Responsibilities or duties

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare monthly Management Accounts in compliance with IFRS 17 and IRA guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate posting of transactions in the general ledger and timely closure of books of accounts as per the set deadlines.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare and submit statutory returns to the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, NHIF, NSSF, and other taxes are filed and paid within the prescribed deadlines.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Monitor budget utilization and provide variance analysis.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • University degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting or equivalent from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education.
  • CPA (K) or equivalent. Member of ICPA(K)

Experience needed

  • MUST have at least five (5) years' experience in a busy commercial Finance & Accounts Department.
  • Experience in Financial Management Systems
