Job Summary
The role holder provides high-level support for Core Banking Systems (such as Infinity and Financial Market Systems), holding ultimate responsibility for application-layer performance tuning, development, maintenance, report generation, and successful backup execution. The Senior Business Analyst bridges business operations and technical teams to streamline processes, eliminate paperwork, and optimize system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Automation & Optimization: Evaluate business processes, collaborate with business champions to eliminate non-value-added steps, translate solution requirements for technical teams, and develop optimization strategies.
- System Development & Integration: Oversee development and integration aspects between Core Banking Systems and third-party platforms, evaluate new product features, and manage vendor technical support.
- Reporting & Documentation: Coordinate the extraction and distribution of Business/MIS reports to relevant third-party systems (like Data Warehouses) and business units while maintaining rigorous system change documentation.
- Upgrade & Change Management: Liaise with change management and business sponsors to schedule software upgrades, patch releases, and software deployments into the production environment.
- Business Engagement & Strategy: Support business requirement gathering, analysis, planning, and implementation, while identifying emerging technologies and developing business cases and proofs-of-concept.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Added advantage: Formal training in Core Banking platforms, Internet Banking, Payment Systems, or Artificial Intelligence.
Experience & Technical Competencies
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a T24/Infinity/Financial Systems production support environment as an administrator or consultant.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in UNIX system administration specifically tailored to IBM AIX.
- At least 3 years of experience administering IBM WMQ and IBM WebSphere.
- At least 3 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- Evaluate business processes, collaborate with business champions to eliminate non-value-added steps, translate solution requirements for technical teams, and develop optimization strategies.
