Background

Greenpeace Africa is looking for a highly skilled Senior Executive Coordinator to support the Executive Director and drive smooth coordination across leadership, governance, and strategic initiatives.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, works with discretion, and can manage complex priorities with ease.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the ED’s calendar, travel, meetings, and strategic priorities
  • Coordinate briefings, speeches, presentations, and prep materials for all engagements
  • Track decisions, follow-ups, and action points across leadership teams
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Executive Director’s Office
  • Support Senior Management Team operations, retreats, planning sessions, and reporting
  • Coordinate governance activities, Board meetings, meeting packs, and compliance
  • Represent the ED’s office in select high-level engagements
  • Draft and review letters, briefs, and stakeholder correspondence
  • Lead or support key organizational projects and events

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, management, international relations, or related field
  • 5–7 years’ experience in senior executive coordination or chief-of-staff type roles
  • Experience supporting C-suite or senior leaders in NGOs, international institutions, or government
  • Strong project management, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across diverse cultures
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Asana, and productivity tools
  • Fluency in English. French is a strong plus
