Senior Technical Advisor - Pediatrics and Adolescents Services

Pediatric and adolescent services Technical Leadership
• Provide overall technical oversight for EGPAF/K Country Program in the implementation pediatric and adolescent services.
• Provide technical assistance in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of pediatric and adolescent HIV services across EGPAF/K Program.
• Provide technical assistance to the regional teams in developing/updating different guidelines, working formats, job aids, client education materials and monitoring and evaluation tools.
• In collaboration with STAT, other Senior National Technical and Regional Technical Advisors, organize and provide/facilitate facility-level mentorship in HIV Care across all program areas.
• Develop and disseminate relevant SOPs and service packages to guide service delivery in line with SIMS and Differentiated Service Delivery Models of Care.
• Participate in the preparation of continuation application (CA), FOA and New Business Development opportunities.
• Ensure that all set Pediatric and Adolescents targets are met; come up with rapid change interventions for any target lagging behind.

National, County and Global Liaison and Participation
• Participate in the national and regional Pediatric and Adolescents working group activities.
• Actively participate in national policy and guideline reviews on pediatric and adolescent services.
• Participate actively in global technical discussions and represent EGPAF/Kenya.
• Represent EGPAF Kenya in global pediatrics and adolescents community of practices.
• Participate in the global Technical Directors Forum and other forums as needed.

Staff Supervision and Mentorship
• S /he will supervise, coach and mentor pediatric and adolescents Technical Advisors and project teams to ensure set targets are exceeded.
• S/he will provide mentorship to site teams specifically in management of advanced HIV disease for children and adolescents.
• Work closely with the PDs/PMs and TAs to develop and refine key performance indicators.
• Work with the regional TWGs to review and manage children and adolescents failing treatment and ensure they are transitioned to the right regimen.

Project Management
• Will be a member of the Senior Management Team.
• Working with the SMT, ensure that the TA rigour from the STAT team is equitably applied across all EGPAF programs.
• Employ a variety of relevant project management tools to manage project activities e.g. Gantt Charts, Raci Matrix etc.
• Contribute to EGPAF Kenya’s project management body of knowledge through active participation in project designs, review and course corrective forums.
• Support Paediatric and Adolescent project’s Knowledge Management.

To Be Successful, You Will Have
• Medical Doctor with a Master’s Degree in Pediatrics and Child Health or another relevant advanced degree.
• HIV programming experience for at least 7 years in a Senior Technical Position.
• Demonstrated prowess in the management of HIV-infected children and adolescents in African continent.
• Proficient in project management and leadership with a proven track record of leading successful programs.
• Vast experience working with National and County MOH counterparts, participating actively in National and County TWGs, participation in the development of various national/county policies and guidelines including County Development and Investment Plans.
