Shamiri Fellows are recent high-school graduates trained to deliver the 4-week Shamiri intervention without prior formal health training as part of the Shamiri Program. Fellows receive ten hours of training and weekly supervision from Shamiri Clinical Supervisors. They lead group-based intervention sessions with high school students within the schools we will be implementing with in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kisumu, and Murang’a Counties. Prior research has shown that Shamiri Fellows are effective - thorough, skill-full, clear, and adherent to session protocol - at delivering the Shamiri intervention. We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated team player to join our sixth class of Thrive! Fellows.

- Demonstrate the ability to recognize and reflect on one’s own values, attitudes, beliefs, biases, emotions, and past experiences. Use mistakes as opportunities for growth.
- Demonstrate interest in helping others and ensuring their confidentiality, fair treatment, safety, and well-being.
- Demonstrate commitment to the broad scope of values, ethics, and goals at the height of the Shamiri mission.
- Possess time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Possess strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Additional Details
Candidates who have just finished high school are highly encouraged to apply.
This call for applications is for candidates who have worked as Shamiri Fellows in any phase of the Shamiri program (with us or our partners).
The contract will run for three months.
All Shamiri Fellows will be paid KES 1,500 per group session they deliver (KES 1,000 per session and KES 500 for transport facilitation). The expectation is that Fellows will deliver between 10 to 20 sessions during their contract.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
