Verst Carbon Limited is recruiting short-term consultants and field personnel for a nature-based project in Kenya. These are part-time, assignment-based engagements, with roles expected to commence at various points between September and December 2026

Role Overview:

The Site Technical Lead manages the day-to-day logistics and technical operations of the field teams, acting as the bridge between the project management office and the ground staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Logistics Management:

Coordinate the mobilization, safety, and daily scheduling of multiple survey teams operating in terrestrial ecosystems.

Team Supervision:

Lead and mentor a team of enumerators, forest rangers, and local guides, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Data Verification:

Perform real-time validation of data entered in Electronic Data Capture (EDC) tools or paper forms, troubleshooting issues on-site.

Stratification Oversight:

Ensure that field sampling aligns with the Remote Sensing/GIS stratification maps, confirming that plots are correctly located using high-precision GPS.

Equipment Maintenance:

Manage the inventory and maintenance of field equipment (e.g., diameter tapes, clinometers, hypsometers, GPS devices).

Reporting:

Provide daily/weekly progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting any operational challenges or deviations from the work plan.
