Background

Responsibilities
The Social Media Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing UNEP's social media strategy to enhance its online presence and engagement. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with UNEP's communication goals.
- Creating engaging and shareable content (text, images, videos) for various social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Monitoring social media trends, conversations, and analytics to identify opportunities and inform strategy.
- Engaging with online communities, responding to comments and messages, and fostering dialogue.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation.
- Reporting on social media performance and providing insights for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in social media management and strategy development, preferably within an international organization or NGO.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English.
- Proficiency in using social media management tools and analytics platforms.
- Creative thinking and ability to develop compelling content.
- Understanding of environmental issues and sustainable development is an asset.
