Overview: Sourcing Intern KE
As our Sourcing Intern, you will report to the Sourcing Coordinator in Kenya in conjunction with the Sourcing Manager and Operations Coordinator in Kenya while working closely with a team of Field Officers. You will assist and coordinate Agricycle’s sourcing intelligence to grow our network of smallholder farmers and coordinate the supply, negotiation and purchasing of a wide range of over 100 ingredients.Using your analytical and strategic skills, you will strengthen Agricycle’s supply chain to provide reliability and widen our benefit. You will manage a robust database of smallholder farmers to facilitate this.

Responsibilities:
• Assist Agricycle’s sourcing intelligence in Kenya and map all agricultural activity country-wide.
• Fulfill incoming sample and sourcing requests from outside buyers with diligence and immediacy.
• Identify and evaluate sources for over 100 ingredients from smallholder farmers across Uganda.
• Direct Field Officers’ efforts to train and purchase ingredients from evaluated smallholders.
• Operate procurement policies and procedures while negotiating supplier relationships.
• Develop innovative ways to minimize supply risks with smallholder farmers in Agricycle’s network.
• Maintain a robust database of producers alongside qualifications, prices, volume, lead times, etc.
• Analyze the database and develop action plans to reduce costs and improve sourcing processes.
• Collaborate with Agricycle’s global team across sales, operations and impact on a regular basis.
• Any other reasonable responsibility given by supervising team members.

Requirements:
• Fresh graduate with university degree or college diploma in procurement, supply chain management, agriculture, logistics, project management or other related fields.
• Good communication skills (both written and oral); good command of English is favorable.
• Demonstrated compassion and empathy, strong work ethic and unimpeachable integrity.
• Readiness and ability to regularly perform under pressure and within short timeframes.
• Readiness to travel anywhere in Kenya under short notices and occasionally work odd hours.
• Excellent working knowledge of computer applications, especially: gmail and spreadsheets.
