Receiving and Inspecting: Unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and invoices, and inspecting items for any damage or discrepancies. Storage and Organization: Storing items in a systematic, safe, and accessible manner, often following the "first-in, first-out" (FIFO) method to prevent spoilage or obsolescence. Inventory Control and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate digital and/or manual records of stock levels, movements, and transactions using inventory management software. Order Fulfillment: Picking, packing, and preparing orders for delivery or shipment to other departments or customers. Stock Monitoring and Reordering: Regularly monitoring stock levels, conducting physical inventory counts (audits), reconciling discrepancies, and initiating purchase requisitions for replenishment as needed. Safety and Maintenance: Ensuring the storage areas are clean, organized, and comply with all health and safety regulations, and operating material handling equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.

Organizational Skills: Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills are vital for managing a diverse range of items efficiently. Computer Proficiency: Competence in using inventory management software, spreadsheets, and other computer applications for data entry and analysis. Physical Stamina: The role can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for long periods. Communication Skills: Effective communication is necessary for coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams. Basic Math and Accounting: The ability to perform accurate mathematical computations is essential for managing stock counts and financial records. Problem-Solving: The capacity to identify and resolve issues such as stock discrepancies, late deliveries, or damaged goods.
