STUDENT ATTACHMENT – LEGAL AFFAIRS AND CORPORATION SECRETARY – 2 POSITIONS
The attaché will be reporting to the Director, Legal Affairs and Corporation Secretary.
Attachment Period: 3 months (non-renewable)
The key responsibilities for the position are:
- Assisting in organizing and participating in sensitization workshops and seminars for institutional investors and issuers on Corporate Governance and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG);
- Updating different corporate governance databases for issuers’ announcements, change of directors, change of CSs and change of auditors among others;
- Updating and analyzing the issuers’ monthly shareholding database;
- Conduct periodic and/or one-off surveys on sustainability and emerging issues on corporate governance;
- Assisting in conducting research and preparing legal briefs and opinions;
- Assisting in maintaining proper records in respect to court files, contracts, and legal opinions; and
- Updating the register of judicial precedents on Capital markets.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
A continuing student pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Diploma in Law or a continuing student at Kenya School of Law or a continuing Certified Secretary(CS) student.
