Students Supervisor – Master of Education in Technology Education

1. Guide students in developing curriculum and instructional strategies that integrate technology across various educational subject areas.
2. Supervise action research projects aimed at improving technology literacy and digital skills among K-12 or post-secondary learners.
3. Mentor candidates in the safe, ethical, and equitable use of technology in educational contexts.
4. Oversee the design of technology-enhanced lesson plans and assessment tools aligned with educational standards.
5. Support students in evaluating the effectiveness of technology interventions on student learning outcomes.
6. Facilitate students' collaboration with classroom teachers to pilot and refine technology-based instructional resources.
7. Assess students' ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide just-in-time support in teaching environments.

Qualifications for a Masters supervisor

• PhD in a relevant field OR Master’s degree with significant research/ professional experience in specialized areas and demonstration of supervision of Masters candidates to completion.
• At least two (2) peer-reviewed publications in the last five years.
• Strong digital mentoring and online engagement skills to effectively support learners in virtual environments.
• Familiarity and prior experience with online or virtual supervision will be an added advantage.

• Provide academic and research supervision to Masters and PhD candidates.
• Guide candidates in proposal development, research design, data collection, analysis and thesis writing.
• Mentor candidates through virtual supervision on OUK's digital platforms.
• Ensure adherence to OUK's Graduate Studies Policy, research ethics and quality standards and other University policies including timelines.
• Provide timely feedback and progress reports as per institutional guidelines.
• Support preparation for thesis defense and publication of research outputs.
