Students Supervisor – Postgraduate Diploma in Learning Design and Technology

1. Guide students in applying instructional design principles to create practical, technology-enhanced learning materials for classroom or corporate training settings.
2. Supervise the development of blended and online learning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, or Moodle.
3. Mentor students in conducting needs assessments and learner analysis to inform the design of effective educational interventions.
4. Oversee the creation of assessment instruments that measure learning outcomes in technology-mediated environments.
5. Support students in evaluating the usability and accessibility of digital learning resources for diverse learner populations.
6. Facilitate students' collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and pedagogical alignment.
7. Assess students' final portfolios, which must demonstrate a complete design project from analysis through evaluation.

Qualifications for a Masters supervisor

PhD in a relevant field OR Master’s degree with significant research/ professional experience in specialized areas and demonstration of supervision of Masters candidates to completion.

At least two (2) peer-reviewed publications in the last five years.

Strong digital mentoring and online engagement skills to effectively support learners in virtual environments.

Familiarity and prior experience with online or virtual supervision will be an added advantage.

• Provide academic and research supervision to Masters and PhD candidates.
• Guide candidates in proposal development, research design, data collection, analysis and thesis writing.
• Mentor candidates through virtual supervision on OUK's digital platforms.
• Ensure adherence to OUK's Graduate Studies Policy, research ethics and quality standards and other University policies including timelines.
• Provide timely feedback and progress reports as per institutional guidelines.
• Support preparation for thesis defense and publication of research outputs.
