Job Description
Assisting in the transportation and distribution of meals from the kitchen to various wards and departments
Supporting cooks in basic food preparation activities under supervision
Collecting used utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment from wards and ensuring proper return to the kitchen
Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, dining areas, and food service areas in line with hygiene standards
Assisting in serving meals to patients according to dietary instructions and schedules
Ensuring proper handling and safe movement of food items within the hospital
Assisting in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients
Maintaining cleanliness in food preparation, storage, and distribution areas
Supporting waste management and disposal in accordance with hospital policies and public health standards
Assisting in loading and unloading food supplies and catering materials
Reporting damaged items, shortages, or incidents to the supervising staff
Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the supervising cook or hospitality officer
Requirements & Qualifications
Craft certificate in food production, catering and accommodation, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certificate in food handling from a recognized public health institution.
Basic knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
Ability to work in a busy institutional kitchen and hospital environment.
Physical fitness to perform manual duties including lifting and transporting items.
Good teamwork, discipline, and communication skills.
Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and commitment to service
