Role Purpose:
A strategic, commercially accountable role for driving revenue and volume growth through portfolio management, cross-functional collaboration, regulatory compliance, and granular trade development across the animal health product category.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial & Portfolio
- Drive 25% revenue/volume growth; set & review regional sales targets
- Manage full animal health product portfolio — mix, lifecycle & profitability
- Lead new product launches: seeding, training & promotional campaigns
- Develop weekly/monthly price matrices; manage trade spend ROI
- Support annual budget preparation for the category.
Market Intelligence & Supply
- Lead market intelligence reporting: competitor activity, pricing trends, customer sentiment
- Develop accurate demand forecasts (target ≥85% accuracy); regular stakeholder updates
- Manage import partners & toll packers; scout & evaluate new suppliers
- Maintain supplier performance scorecards & continuity planning
Collaboration & Marketing
- Collaborate with General Trade RSMs & their direct reports on aligned trade strategies
- Partner with Marketing Manager on granular customer growth, loyalty & seeding programmes
- Coordinate and develop all ATL & BTL category-specific promotional & marketing initiatives
- Conduct market surveys and report on industry trends to inform leadership on investment corridors
- Build key account relationships: agrovets, vet clinics, cooperatives, county institutions.
Compliance & Field Team
- Ensure compliance with VMD, Kenya Veterinary Board, PCPB & all relevant regulatory bodies-Officer in charge for the drug stores.
- Champion product registration, importation documentation & zero critical non-conformances
- Lead, coach & performance-manage Product Promoters — set KPIs & conduct regular reviews
- Plan field deployment schedules for maximum customer coverage
Qualifications
Essential
- BVM / Animal health related degree
- 5+ years animal health industry; 2–3 years mid-management with P&L accountability
- Registered / registerable with Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB)
- Sound knowledge of VMD, KVB & PCPB regulatory frameworks
- Proven track record in commercial target delivery
- Competent driver with a Valid driving License with more than 2 years driving Experience.
Added Advantage
- Veterinary drug importation & registration process knowledge
- Existing supplier / toll packer networks
- MBA or Postgraduate Marketing qualification
