Tasks and responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the grant delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Coordinate inputs from consultants, service providers, and implementing partners.
  • Prepare annual and quarterly work plans in consultation with FAO, NDA, MoECCF, CoG, and other stakeholders.
  • Act as Secretary to the PSC, preparing agenda, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Provide technical coordination and guidance to all project outputs.
  • Ensure the logical flow of interdependent activities across the project.
  • Oversee and review development of county climate adaptation plans in close collaboration with service providers and national stakeholders.
  • Consolidate input for the development of a review report of NAP implementation.
  • Ensure technical quality of deliverables, including reports, M&E systems, and knowledge products.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and results in line with the Logical Framework and GCF reporting requirements.
  • Ensure timely preparation of progress and completion reports for FAO and GCF.
  • Maintain transparent and accountable reporting systems.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among project partners.
  • Promote inclusive participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups in project activities.
  • Support organization of workshops, consultations, and the Climate Investment Forum.
  • Identify potential implementation challenges and propose mitigation measures.
  • Report promptly on any delays or difficulties to FAO and the PSC

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, climate studies, natural resource management or a closely related field from a recognized university is required
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive work experience in climate change adaptation planning, implementation, or related work
  • Working knowledge (level C) of English and Kiswahili
  • National of Kenya
