Routine Building Maintenance and Safety:

Oversee upkeep of facilities including regular inspection, infrastructure repairs (Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, mechanical, builder and civil works) Ensure the service of utilities is adequate and uninterrupted by monitoring water production, diesel and energy consumption logs as well as communicating risks to line manager for proper action. Assist in fostering and implementation of safety protocols and emergency crisis management strategies.

Operational Management:

Manage day-to-day administrative operations such as supervising maintenance workplan, residential work requests, school side work requests, kitchen maintenance request, cleaning and landscaping requests. Report and plan for replacement of any breakdowns including options and proposed actions for replacement. Raise requisite forms and ensure there are adequate levels of regularly needed items as well as raise work completion certificate for the line manager. Updating work schedule reports sent in by the stakeholders and reverting with the relevant progress status. Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly status or equipment reports as depicted by line manager.

Budgeting and Financial Preparations.

Participate and assist line manager in preparing and overseeing OPEX and CRI Budgets for maintenance. Assist in tracking expenses and cost optimization of facilities resources and services.

Space Planning and Projects Planning:

Assist line manager in coordinating facilities renovations, constructions, space planning and movements for effective space utilization in the Campus. Participate in implementation and enforcement of preventative maintenance programs and schedules.

Vendors and External Contracts Management:

Assist Facilities Head in sourcing and managing external contracts and service level agreements. Monitor and manage outsourced services and performance to ensure compliance with safety.

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, Facilities management or related field
  • Registered engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya as a professional engineer
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities or campus management, including supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, infrastructure management, and project oversight in institutional or large campus settings.
  • Practical technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, civil, HVAC, plumbing, and general facilities operations.
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices, building systems, and utilities management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
