Job Summary

The Technical Operator – Screen Printer is responsible for operating, maintaining, and optimizing screen printing machines used in plastic manufacturing. The role ensures high-quality printing on plastic products while maintaining efficiency, minimizing waste, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Machine Operation

  • Set up and operate screen printing machines for plastic products.
  • Prepare screens, inks, and substrates according to production specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings (speed, pressure, alignment) to achieve desired print quality.

Quality Control

  • Inspect printed materials to ensure color accuracy, alignment, and consistency.
  • Identify and correct printing defects such as smudging, misalignment, or fading.
  • Ensure finished products meet company and client quality standards.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printing equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical or printing issues.
  • Report major faults to maintenance team promptly.

Production Efficiency

  • Monitor production output and minimize material wastage.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned production targets.
  • Maintain proper documentation of production activities.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to occupational health and safety standards in the production area.
  • Proper handling and storage of inks, chemicals, and materials.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with design and production teams to ensure accurate print execution.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and support continuous improvement initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Printing Technology, Graphic Design, or a related technical field from a recognized vocational training institution.
  • At least 1–3 years’ experience in screen printing, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience in printing on plastic materials is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of screen-printing processes and techniques
  • Basic mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Ability to mix and match colors accurately
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Basic record-keeping and reporting skills
  • Team player with good communication skills
