Role Overview

The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for the commercial and technical promotion of Megger’s OEM test and measurement solutions—including cable fault locators, insulation testers, substation testing equipment, and protection relay test sets. The role blends deep technical application knowledge with strategic sales to Utilities, panel builders, system integrators, and large-scale end users.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Sales & Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and close sales opportunities for Megger OEM solutions.
  • Develop and execute account plans for key clients in power generation, transmission, distribution, rail, and heavy industry.
  • Prepare and deliver technical proposals, product demonstrations, and tender bids & responses.

Application Engineering Support

  • Understand client testing requirements and recommend the correct Megger OEM products
  • Assist clients with system integration, configuration, and commissioning support.
  • Conduct on-site and remote technical presentations to engineering teams.

Partner & OEM Relationship Management

  • Build long-term relationships with clients that embed Megger test equipment into their assets
  • Provide training and after-sales technical support to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Track competitor activity, pricing trends, and regulatory changes affecting electrical testing in the region.
  • Maintain a healthy CRM pipeline and provide accurate weekly sales forecasts.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, or related field.
  • 3-5 years in technical sales, field application engineering, or business development with electrical test equipment.
  • Proven experience selling Megger products or equivalent (OMICRON, Fluke, Doble)
  • Strong understanding of power systems: transformers, circuit breakers, cables, relays, substations.
  • Experience working with OEMs.
  • Existing network of utility and industrial clients in Kenya.
  • Valid Passport & driver’s license

  • Self-starter – comfortable working independently in remote or challenging environments.
  • Excellent communicator – fluent in English
