About the Role
Miale Solar is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support the Business Development team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales process. The role focuses on solution design, proposal development, and client engagement from a technical perspective, ensuring that all solutions are accurate, competitive, and aligned to client needs. This is a pre-sales focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys designing solutions and supporting deal conversion rather than direct sales hunting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Business Development team in evaluating client requirements and proposing suitable solar PV and BESS solutions
- Prepare technical proposals, system designs, and cost estimates aligned with client needs
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform solution design
- Work closely with BD to develop competitive bids, tenders, and client presentations
- Translate technical designs into clear, client-friendly proposals and documentation
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility
- Provide technical input during client meetings, presentations, and negotiations
- Review client requirements and ensure alignment with technical specifications and project scope
- Support handover of projects to implementation teams with complete and accurate documentation
- Maintain a repository of standard designs, templates, and technical documentation
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and product developments
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
- 2–5+ years’ experience in a technical, engineering, or pre-sales role within the energy/solar sector
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems and energy storage (BESS)
- Experience in system sizing, design, and proposal development
- Familiarity with design tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar is an added advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for clients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with ability to work closely with BD and engineering teams
