About the Role

Miale Solar is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support the Business Development team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales process. The role focuses on solution design, proposal development, and client engagement from a technical perspective, ensuring that all solutions are accurate, competitive, and aligned to client needs. This is a pre-sales focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys designing solutions and supporting deal conversion rather than direct sales hunting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Business Development team in evaluating client requirements and proposing suitable solar PV and BESS solutions
  • Prepare technical proposals, system designs, and cost estimates aligned with client needs
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform solution design
  • Work closely with BD to develop competitive bids, tenders, and client presentations
  • Translate technical designs into clear, client-friendly proposals and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility
  • Provide technical input during client meetings, presentations, and negotiations
  • Review client requirements and ensure alignment with technical specifications and project scope
  • Support handover of projects to implementation teams with complete and accurate documentation
  • Maintain a repository of standard designs, templates, and technical documentation
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and product developments

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
  • 2–5+ years’ experience in a technical, engineering, or pre-sales role within the energy/solar sector
  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems and energy storage (BESS)
  • Experience in system sizing, design, and proposal development
  • Familiarity with design tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for clients
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with ability to work closely with BD and engineering teams
