Background

CFAO Motors Kenya is hiring a Technician – to diagnose and ensure high-quality automotive service. The role is based in Eldoret and experience in automotive diagnostics is required.

They are looking to fill the position of the Technician – Eldoret Branch. The role reports to the Service Supervisor and will be based in Eldoret.

Job Purpose

The Technician is directly responsible for:

This role is responsible for the provision of service to customer vehicles in line with the ‘fix it right the first time’ standard, in order to support high customer satisfaction as well as to attain revenue and throughput targets for the branch.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled vehicle maintenance as per CFAO Mobility Kenya standards to ensure quality work is done in a timely manner;
  • Repair customer vehicles as per customer requests in line with the CFAO Mobility Kenya ‘fix it right the first time’ principle, to support high customer retention rates as well as minimized repeat jobs;
  • Respond to and handle customers’ complaints promptly to avert misunderstandings and the risk of losing customers;
  • Support less experienced technicians with the diagnosis of complex repairs/service to ensure customers are provided with high quality service, and to pass on experience and knowledge to the less experienced team;
  • Advice customers through service advisors on the reparability of their vehicles and time required without compromising on the company policy, to ensure the customers are well informed for minimal complaints;
  • Clean the work area (bay) in compliance with 4S standards to ensure the workstation is always safe, clean and tidy;
  • Properly inspect vehicles to accurately identify faults and generate timely, clear & precise defect reports for up-selling to generate required revenue.

Qualifications

Minimum level of academic and professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role

  • Diploma in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
  • Certified Technician will be an added advantage
  • 4 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry
  • Product and technical knowledge
  • Customer Oriented
