POSITION SUMMARY:

HIAS seeks to recruit Temporary Office Cleaners who will be responsible for ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness and ground maintenance throughout the premises. This position is on a temporary basis; the incumbents will be relieving office assistants or will be engaged when needed.

The duty stations for this position are Kikuyu & Ngong Road.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop routines to ensure all common areas of the offices are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Assist in the general cleaning of the offices.
  • Ensuring that yard work and maintenance of outdoor areas are carried out and keeping the compound clean, trimming the fences, trees, and shrubs, and tending to the flowers
  • Drawing to the attention of the appropriate authorities, any repair or maintenance work required at the offices.
  • Ensure the availability of cleaning supplies in all sanitary places.
  • Use cleaning materials and consumables economically.
  • Empty general waste refuse bins and make sure all refuse is disposed of promptly and using proper disposal methods.
  • Disinfect drains and dustbins regularly.
  • Assist in the organization of archived files.
  • Any other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of secondary school education
  • Certificate in housekeeping or its equivalent.
  • Experience as a cleaner/Office Assistant for not less than 1 year
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively individually and with a team.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge in Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
