We are hereby inviting qualified, talented and highly motivated candidates to fill the following positions.

Position: Theatre Nurse
Vacancies: 1
Reports to: Nursing Officer In-charge

Job Purpose
The theatre nurse shall be responsible for promoting and maintaining high standards of professional nursing care by providing quality services with special focus on surgeries to meet the needs of patients.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assessing patient’s status, reviewing charts/file, identifying patient and verifying surgical site upon arrival to the operating theatre
• Handing over patients to ward staff once stable enough to be in the ward
• Take measures to ensure patient’s comfort and provision of psychological support and communicating patient’s emotional status to other appropriate theatre team members
• Prepare theatre instruments for packaging, sterilization, storage and dispatching
• Maintaining aseptic and safe controlled operating theatre environment
• Managing human resources, equipment, and supplies for individualized patient care
• Managing patient flow in theatre Department
• Participate in surgical procedures as a scrub nurse
• Documenting any events during the perioperative period
• Any other duties that may be allocated by the Management

Qualifications
• Diploma in Community health Nursing (KRCHN) or BSN from a recognized institution.
• At least Three years of experience in a busy operating theatre
• Higher Diploma in Perioperative Nursing will be an added advantage
• Must have Certification in BLS
• ACLS Certification will be an added advantage
• Experience in Laparoscopy will be an added advantage

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: Associate Degree
