Responsibilities or duties
- Teach the principles of tourism management including tourism marketing, destination management, and sustainable tourism development.
- Supervise students in tourism market research, visitor studies, and tourism policy analysis.
- Conduct research on tourism trends, heritage tourism, ecotourism, and the socio-economic impact of tourism.
- Train students in tourism planning, attraction development, and hospitality management.
- Develop teaching materials on tourist behavior, service quality, and cultural tourism strategies.
- Guide students in understanding the challenges and opportunities in the tourism industry.
- Collaborate with tourism authorities and tourism businesses on tourism development and promotion projects.
- Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research.
Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
Experience needed
At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)
Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered.
The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.
Those who are currently teaching for the University on Part-time basis are encouraged to apply.
