About the Role
Our client is a growing Supply Chain Alliance combining global expertise in logistics, international supply chains, trade finance, commodity management, and risk management.
We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership and support business growth across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial advice on profitability, pricing, working capital, risk, and business expansion.
- Oversee trade finance activities, including Letters of Credit, guarantees, documentary collections, and structured trade finance.
- Manage treasury, cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and funding requirements.
- Monitor and manage FX, commodity, and counterparty risks and support hedging strategies.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and profitability analysis.
- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and financial close.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
- Develop scalable finance processes, systems, reporting, and automation across multiple countries.
- Manage internal and external audits and strengthen governance frameworks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while partnering with commercial, logistics, and supply chain functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Master’s degree/MBA and professional accounting or finance certification are an advantage.
- 8–10 years’ senior finance/accounting experience within logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of trade finance, IFRS, treasury, cash management, and financial reporting.
- Experience with cross-border taxation, regulatory environments, and financial systems.
- Understanding of FX, hedging, commodity pricing, and supply chain finance is an advantage.
- Advanced Excel, strong analytical, strategic, leadership, and communication skills.
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of:
- Trade finance instruments
- IFRS and financial reporting
- Treasury and cash management
- Cross-border taxation and regulatory environments
Good understanding of:
- Foreign exchange markets and hedging
- Commodity trading mechanisms
- Supply chain financing
- ERP and financial reporting systems
