Background information about the job or company

The Siaya National Polytechnic (TSNP) Is A Public TVET Institution Operating Under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013 In the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training , Ministry of Education, Kenya. It is Situated in Siaya Town along the Siaya –Rang’ala Road.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus
  • Prepare teaching/learning materials and schemes of work
  • Develop Technical teaching and Training Materials.
  • Setting and marking examinations/assignments
  • Supervision of trainees on attachment
  • Instructing, guiding and evaluating trainees in practical exercises
  • Reporting progress and overall performance of individual trainees
  • Participating in development of curriculum and training programmes
  • Undertaking/ carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer

Qualifications or requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Background training in Competency-Based Education Training(CBET)
  • Pedagogy in Education, training, Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) Registration, Registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable will be an added advantage
  • One who is reliable and of high integrity.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

There are two (2) Trainer positions available in the ICT Department. Candidates will be considered separately based on their academic qualifications. One (1) position is reserved for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree, while the other is reserved for a candidate with a Diploma Certificate. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the position that matches their qualifications.
