Transport Manager

Position: Transport Manager
Location: Nairobi
Experience: 5–7 years
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain

Job Summary:
The Transport Manager will oversee the company’s transportation operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of products and materials across the company’s manufacturing and distribution network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage transport and fleet operations.
• Plan delivery routes and optimize vehicle utilization.
• Coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor fleet performance, fuel consumption, maintenance, and operating costs.
• Supervise drivers, transport staff, and external transport providers.
• Ensure compliance with transport, road safety, and company regulations.
• Manage relationships with transport contractors and service providers.
• Monitor vehicle availability, licensing, insurance, and maintenance schedules.
• Analyze transport costs and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Prepare transport performance reports and operational budgets.
• Coordinate closely with logistics, warehouse, sales, and distribution teams.
• Implement measures to improve safety, service delivery, and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant transport/logistics experience.
• Proven experience managing fleets and transport operations.
• Strong knowledge of logistics, distribution, and supply-chain processes.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of transport safety and regulatory requirements.

Experience in Months: 60

Level of Education: postgraduate degree
