Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality teaching and assessment through lectures, seminars, and supervision, while providing academic leadership in curriculum development, student evaluation, and learning strategies, supporting student success, and fostering effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance the Institute’s academic objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach and examine courses through lectures, seminars and supervision.
- Provide leadership in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, marking policies, assessment and learning strategies in the Institute.
- Deliver lectures and monitor student progress during training, provide support and advice to enable the students excel in their studies.
- Evaluate academic progress of students, record findings and devise action plans where necessary.
- Manage the relationship with all key stakeholders both internally and externally and maintain appropriate communication with them.
- Any other duty as may be assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BScN) or its equivalent, in an institution recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Higher Diploma in Perioperative Nursing from an institution recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- A Master's degree in Nursing will be an added advantage.
- At least three (3) years work experience in Perioperative Nursing.
- Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Valid practice license from the Nursing Council of Kenya
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.

- Ability to provide instructions at various levels within the program areas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to integrate technology into the learning environment and teaching methodology. Interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Research and development skills.
- Effective presentation skills, both theoretical and practical.
