Role Overview
You will ensure that IHF’s mission is accessible across languages. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about linguistics and cultural nuances, working on-call to support the Media and HR divisions.
International Humanity Foundation (IHF)
The Translation Team is the "Bridge of Understanding" within our global university structure. As a "Drop-In" team, you provide the vital linguistic support that allows our stories from Kenya, Thailand, and Indonesia to resonate with a worldwide audience.
? Role Overview
You will ensure that IHF’s mission is accessible across languages. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about linguistics and cultural nuances, working on-call to support the Media and HR divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-Language Support: Translate recruitment ads, legal documents, and children’s progress stories between English, Swahili, and Indonesian (Bahasa).
- Cultural Interpretation: Ensure all translations maintain the "IHF Tone" and respect local cultural contexts.
- Lead Responsibility – Training & Mentorship: Guide new translators on the specific vocabulary used in our "Culture of Leadership" to ensure consistency across all platforms.
? Requirements:
- Fluency in English and at least one other language (Swahili or Bahasa Indonesia preferred).
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work on a "Drop-In" basis with quick turnaround times
