Travellers Beach Resort is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused, and professional Waiter to join its Food & Beverage team in Mombasa.
Responsibilities or duties
Guest Service and Hospitality
- Welcome and attend to guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus, explain available dishes, and provide recommendations when required.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders.
- Serve meals and beverages according to established service standards.
- Respond to guest requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure guests have a positive dining experience.
Food and Beverage Service
- Set up tables, dining areas, and service stations before operations.
- Ensure correct presentation and delivery of food and beverages.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service.
- Process orders accurately and coordinate with kitchen and bar teams.
- Follow proper food handling and hygiene procedures.
Cleanliness and Standards
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with restaurant preparation, closing procedures, and stock organization.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow hospitality service standards.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with chefs, supervisors, and other hospitality staff.
- Support smooth restaurant operations during busy periods.
- Communicate guest feedback and operational issues to supervisors.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Essential Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Service, or related field is an advantage.
- Good understanding of customer service practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a beach resort, hotel, or tourism environment.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
- Familiarity with handling diverse local and international guests.
