Background information about the job or company:

The job holder will be responsible for the treatment of raw and effluent water according to the required specifications while ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to the procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Add chemicals, such as alum, soda ash or chlorine for disinfection of water.
  • Inspect equipment on a regular basis.
  • Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
  • Collect and test water and effluent samples.
  • Record meter and gauge readings and operational data.
  • Document and report test results to regulatory agencies.
  • Operate equipment to purify and clarify water or to process or dispose of effluent.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds, and other work areas.
  • Follow Kenya, National environmental management authority regulations.
  • Ensure safety standards are met.
  • Maintain and update accurate records for treatment process.
  • Monitor all operational issues and report any malfunctions.
  • Maintain efficient use of pumps and machines.
  • Observes control panel, records readings.
  • Collects samples of treatment solutions and sludge for laboratory analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Water Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of water and effluent.
  • Knowledge of effluent treatment standards.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft office suite.
