Blueberry Africa is looking for a Web Developer to build and maintain websites and digital platforms for NGOs, think tanks, research institutions, and other organizations across Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop responsive, mobile-first websites from Figma designs and wireframes.
• Work with WordPress, custom development, and other suitable frameworks.
• Integrate forms, newsletters, analytics, payment systems, M-Pesa, and other third-party platforms.
• Set up staging environments, test functionality, and prepare websites for launch.
• Develop reusable templates and content structures.
• Troubleshoot technical, performance, and website-related issues.
• Provide technical support after websites go live.

Requirements

• Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills.
• Hands-on WordPress experience and experience with at least one other development stack or framework.
• Working knowledge of PHP.
• Ability to turn designs and wireframes into production-ready websites.
• Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first development.
• Familiarity with technical SEO, accessibility, and website performance.
• Good project management and communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients and teams.

Nice to Have: Experience with Kadence, GeneratePress, Blocksy, Astra, or similar lightweight WordPress frameworks.

Experience working with NGOs, research organizations, campaigns, media companies, or podcast platforms will be an added advantage. A strong portfolio will also be considered alongside formal qualifications.
