Talent Grid Africa is recruiting on behalf of an established client in the AgriTech sector. The organization operates modern agricultural initiatives and maintains a diverse fleet of heavy machinery, tractors, irrigation infrastructure, and mechanical assets across its farming operations.
Role Overview & Scope
The Workshop Lead will drive workshop excellence, machinery reliability, and preventive maintenance programs across the organization's technical assets. Leading a team of technicians and mechanics, the role ensures peak operational efficiency for tractors, generators, irrigation systems, and heavy agricultural equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop Management: Direct day-to-day workshop operations, repair schedules, and technical workflows.
- Preventive Maintenance: Design and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Fleet & Machinery Reliability: Oversee servicing and repairs for agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, generators, and heavy equipment.
- Technical Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor workshop mechanics and maintenance technicians.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Automotive Engineering.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in workshop, fleet, or maintenance management.
- At least 2 years in a direct supervisory or leadership role.
- Asset Expertise: Hands-on experience with agricultural machinery, tractors, irrigation setups, generators, and heavy mechanical equipment is highly desirable.
