Background

Imara.Tv educates the public using short entertainment films to make the world a better place. Whats even better, the films are made by young people in Kenya who self-employ their natural talents like acting and digital skills like animation to create wholesome films that edutain our viewers for free on wholesome themes.

Responsibilities

We are looking for young people who are active, creative, connected to their communities and passionate about using media and storytelling for positive social change.

Qualifications

Applicants should ideally:

• Be a young person living in or having strong links to one of the 14 target counties.
• Have an understanding of the local youth, creative and community ecosystem.
• Demonstrate experience or interest in filmmaking, digital content creation, social media, community mobilisation, communications, journalism, arts, storytelling or related fields.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be able to mobilise and work effectively with other young people.
• Demonstrate integrity, responsibility and respect for confidentiality.
• Be comfortable using digital and social media platforms.
• Be willing to support community-based activities and occasional field engagements.
• Demonstrate an interest in CSEA/GBV prevention, child protection, SRHR, youth empowerment and/or community development.
