JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose Statement
• The Investment Analyst role is a technical role which entails preforming research and preparing analysis of economic, financial markets and financial instruments and products to support decision making by the wealth management investment team.
• As a Buy side analyst, the incumbent will assist the business in identify investment opportunities for their business.

Key responsibilities;
• Examining and assessing economic and market trends, earnings prospects, financial statements and various other indicators and factors to determine suitable investment strategies
• Interact with the management of the companies or similar players that he/she is researching as well as interacting with other fund managers, placement agents and investment issuers.
• Looking back at previous investment decisions and the thought process of making the investment decision
• Participate in client acquisition, report back and education events
• Preparing market information for dissemination to clients/prospects
• The incumbent will be a member of the investment committee and shall play a lead role in information dissemination and knowledge enhancement to the whole team.
• The functions of this role will also be guided by requirements of the legislation regulating the firm.

Job Specifications
Academic & Professional:
• Bachelor's degree in business or finance or related field.
• Progress towards MBA and/or CFA designation or equivalent preferred.
• Progress towards ICIFA and/or CISI qualification a requirement

Desired work experience:
• 3+ years related work experience in investment banking or financial analysis role in a busy establishment.
