Responsibilities
- Supervise the development, implementation, and review of administrative department policies, strategies, standards, guidelines, and procedures;
- Manage the maintenance of the workplace environment;
- Ensure environmental safety, hygiene, and sanitation;
- Assist in the management of administrative personnel;
- Coordinate the provision of transport and logistics to NLAS staff;
- Control and monitor the location and movement of equipment;
- Maintain custody of the assets register;
- Control the utilization and allocation of office space and resources;
- Coordinate the maintenance of hospital infrastructure and equipment;
- Conduct staff performance appraisals;
- Provide guidance in interdepartmental activities;
- Participate in the management of outsourced services;
- Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs);
- Oversee the preparation and submission of periodic reports; and
- Identify the training needs of staff working in the department.
Qualifications
The following are the recognized qualifications for the cadre:
- At least twelve (12) years' cumulative work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Principal Administration Officer or in a comparable position in the Private or Public Sector;
- Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Administration, Business Administration, Business Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Master's degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Transport and Logistics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Membership in a relevant professional body;
- Certificate in Leadership Course;
- A valid practicing license;
- Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Other Details
NOTE: NLAS Grades 1, 2 & 3 are on a three-years contract basis, renewable once while the rest are on permanent and pensionable terms
Successful candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of Leadership and Integrity as set out in Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya and shall be required to present the following documents before being issued with an offer letter;
- Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority;
- Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;
- Certificate of Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau; and
- Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board or proof of ongoing repayments.
