Job Specifications
An officer at this level may be deployed in either a land survey or quantity survey functional areas.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

Land Survey

  • Assisting in implementation of land survey policies, standards and guidelines;
  • Assisting in implementation of the provisions of the Survey Act Cap 299, Land Act 2012, Land Registration Act 2012, Sectional Property Act 1987, and other relevant statutes pertaining to land survey;
  • Assisting in carrying out land surveys for security of land tenure and sustainable land development;
  • Assisting in survey, inspection and maintenance of boundaries for territorial integrity;
  • Assisting in implementation of survey projects and programmes in liaison with other relevant stakeholders; and
  • Assisting in conducting quality control checks for title surveys to support land registration.

Quantity Survey

  • Assisting in preparing and updating quantity estimates;
  • Assisting in preparing work plans and programs for generation estimates;
  • Assisting in collecting and collating measurement data for construction, renovation and conservation works
  • Assisting in preparing specifications for works to be contracted out; and
  • Assisting in preparing estimates for as built and Bills of Quantities for new design work

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Land Surveying, Geospatial Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Geospatial Information Systems, Technology in Survey or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing where applicable;
  • A valid practicing license;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.

  • Innovation.
