The Role

The Aga Khan University’s Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking to recruit an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service activities within the department, contributing to the advancement of paediatric care and education in the region.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality teaching and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Paediatrics and Child Health.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Participate in clinical service activities, providing expert paediatric care to patients.
• Contribute to curriculum development and evaluation.
• Engage in academic and administrative service to the department and the university.
• Supervise residents, fellows, and other trainees.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in paediatric medicine and education.

Qualifications and Experience

• Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent).
• Postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics and Child Health (e.g., MMed, FRCPCH, or equivalent).
• Current registration with the relevant medical council.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and research in Paediatrics and Child Health.
• Evidence of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• A commitment to academic excellence and community service.
• Experience in a subspecialty of Paediatrics will be an added advantage.
