JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of the Board of Directors is to provide policy guidelines in the management of the water company. The Board has the responsibility to establish and maintain full effective control of the strategic financial and operational direction of the company as well as ensuring compliance with the law, policies and procedure. It also has the responsibility to mobilize resources and lobby for conducive water sector policies and legislation.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

For appointment to this post, a person must have a minimum of bachelor's degree from a recognized university in the following areas; -

• Accounting/Finance- must be of good standing with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and should provide proof to that effect;
• Engineering- must be a registered engineer in good standing with the relevant professional bodies;
• Human Resource Management- must be of good standing with the Institute of Human Resources Management;
• Law- must be a practicing advocate and in good standing with the Law society of Kenya;
• Business Systems/Management Systems degree;
• IT practitioner degree
• Must have a minimum of seven years working experience in the core profession of the person;
• Must meet the leadership and integrity criteria under the Constitution (Chapter 6) as well as the Fit and Proper Test criteria from WASREB;
• Must have a corporate governance training in a recognized institution prior to appointment
• Must be a resident of the service area of the company
