Missions of Hope International (MOHI) is a Christian not for profit organization which works diligently to educate, empower, restore, and redeem disadvantaged children, families and communities to transform lives through hope of Christ. We are looking for a responsible, skilled, spiritually grounded and compassionate Bus Driver to support our schools especially in Turkana County.
Bus Driver
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of children, staff and visitors while maintaining the state of the organization's vehicle in a clean and mechanically sound condition within the legal requirements of the Government of Kenya.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid and clean driver's license-preferably Class B,C,E, D and E.
- Secondary school education (KCSE or equivalent); additional training in driving and mechanics is an added advantage.
- Basic First Aid Certificate or Emergency Medical Driving Training from recognized institution.
- Defensive Driving Certificate or Advanced Driving Course is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and emergency response procedures.
- Must have certificate of good conduct (an active one).
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in professional driving, preferably with schools.
- Demonstrated ability to drive long distances, including in remote or arid areas.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and minor mechanical troubleshooting.
- Experience maintaining trip logs, fuel usage, and service records.
- Previous work in faith-based or community-oriented organizations is an added advantage.

- Able to communicate well in English and Kiswahili. Must be able to read and write both languages well.

- Must be a well-organized individual who is able to coordinate tasks well and complies with given instructions.
- Sufficient knowledge of rules and regulations of road transport of the country.
