Job Summary

An industrial engineering and MRO supply company based in Nairobi is looking for a motivated Business Development Executive – Industrial Sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new industrial customers, visiting companies, registering the company as an approved supplier, generating sales opportunities, and maintaining accurate customer records in the CRM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach potential industrial customers across Kenya.
  • Visit factories, manufacturers, institutions, contractors, and process plants to introduce the company’s products and services.
  • Follow up with procurement departments to register the company as an approved supplier.
  • Look for MRO sales opportunities involving industrial spares, valves, steam products, fittings, and related engineering items.
  • Build relationships with procurement officers, maintenance managers, engineers, and operations teams.
  • Generate RFQs and follow up quotations until purchase order stage.
  • Update customer contacts, visits, enquiries, opportunities, and follow-ups in the CRM.
  • Prepare weekly reports on customer visits, supplier registrations, RFQs, quotations, and sales pipeline.
  • Travel within Nairobi and across Kenya to look for business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in sales, business development, procurement support, customer service, or industrial products will be an added advantage.
  • Experience selling to factories, manufacturers, contractors, institutions, or process plants is highly preferred.
  • Must be confident in approaching new customers and making field visits.
  • Good communication, follow-up, and reporting skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, Excel, and CRM/data entry.
  • Willingness to travel around Kenya for business development.
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas will have an added advantage:

  • Industrial sales
  • MRO supplies
  • Engineering spares
  • Valves, pumps, fittings, steam products, or instrumentation
  • Supplier registration processes
  • CRM systems
  • Selling to procurement, maintenance, or engineering departments
