Background
Sanlam Allianz Investments Ltd (SAIL) is a leading fund manager in the region and has a strong record of accomplishment in service delivery and performance. We are seeking to recruit a dynamic Business Development and Client Service Officer who will support our institutional business development team to build client relationships and target new business prospects.
Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, Business Development and Client Service, the successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- New business acquisition – be at the forefront of engaging potential clients, leading to conversion into new business.
- Preparation of RFP responses with high attention to detail, proposal design, developing client engagement and staying updated on market dynamics.
- Develop and present client engagement proposals that encompass SAIL’s broader range of services and value-added solutions, transcending the scope of investment-focused offerings
- Client service and retention - overseeing client reporting needs, managing KYC documentation, tracking mandate servicing and renewals, planning and roll out client events.
- Proactively engage and meet existing clients with the aim of maintain relationships and continued business.
- Attend meetings with Portfolio Managers, follow up on action points and handle post meeting visits.
- Maintain adherence to investment guidelines and compliance as well as internal risk and compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Any other responsibilities as documented in your annual performance objectives and as may be assigned and communicated from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field.
- Relevant professional qualification in a business-related field would be an added advantage.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in client service and business development in the financial sector – banking, insurance, financial services, investments etc.
- An investment background and preparation of RFPs is an added advantage.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Have flair for following up and closing deals
