Job Purpose

Operating, controlling, observing, and checking the cement milling process effectively to produce qualified cement along with reasonable quantity to meet or achieve the production plan of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Control and steadily follow up the cement production process, take measures beyond parameters and report the problems encountered, the measure taken and persisted problems for further solution.
  • Checking and ensuring smooth running of the machines including belts, by organizing the detected signals in CCR with discussing with on site operators to alleviate problems.
  • Conducting site observation upon operation stoppage.
  • Supporting and giving help during downtimes (operation shutdowns).
  • Participate in work which needs the operator.
  • In case of normal shutdown, he/she should be sure to discharge all materials from the equipment to prevent hardening and possibly clogged in case the equipment is in use for operation.
  • Communicating hourly and as required, receiving feedback from quality control department the Blaine, fineness, % additives test results to have full control of the cement quality.
  • In case of emergency shutdown, he/she should be sure to operate immediately the equipment to discharge all materials before preceding the operation.
  • Reports to Shift Engineer if the operation needs to be stopped for corrective/preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinates with Electrical department before starting any heavy motor/equipment.
  • Checking on the CCTV (computer) the overall operation of the cement milling process.
  • Work within the requirements of company’s safety procedures, safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Observes strict safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensures environmentally friendly operation.
  • Report unsafe acts, conditions and other safety concerns/issues to the safety personnel and/or supervisor.
  • Conduct risk assessment before proceeding with any activities.
  • Reading cement operation report logbook and gather information about the operation and check it towards different parameters like quantity produced, quality of cement, type of cement etc.
  • Advises Mill Attendants to check all auxiliaries during operation.
  • Participate in lock-out/tag-out application and other safe systems of work implementation.
  • Participating in an occasional operation meeting
  • Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Advanced Diploma /Diploma (TVET 10+3) in Chemical Engineering/ Mechanical/Industrial Chemistry
  • 6/8 years related work experience
