A CCTV Technician installs, configures, maintains, and repairs surveillance systems, requiring skills in electrical wiring, network principles, and troubleshooting hardware and software.
Installation & Configuration: Install CCTV cameras, monitors, DVRs/NVRs, and associated hardware. Configure systems to meet client needs and ensure proper setup. Maintenance & Repair: Conduct regular system inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair faults in both hardware and software. Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and best practices. System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor systems, respond to equipment failures, and troubleshoot technical issues promptly. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, repairs, and service calls. Site Surveys: Conduct site surveys to determine the optimal placement of cameras and other equipment. Collaboration: Work with security and IT teams to integrate and maintain surveillance systems.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of video surveillance systems, including cameras, recorders, and associated software. Electrical Wiring: Ability to perform electrical wiring for camera installation and power sources. Network Knowledge: Familiarity with IT networking principles and configuration protocols. Troubleshooting: Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues with hardware and software. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, especially concerning wiring, cabling, and system configurations. Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and documentation. Physical Ability: The physical capability to perform installations and maintenance in various environments.
