Food Preparation: Planning menus, preparing and cooking dishes, and ensuring that food is cooked to the appropriate temperature. Quality Control: Maintaining the highest standards for food quality, taste, and presentation. Staff Management: Supervising and training kitchen staff, delegating tasks, creating work schedules, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills to manage and train staff, excellent communication to coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house teams, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Safety and Hygiene: Thorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and health and safety legislation to maintain a safe working environment. Problem-Solving: Creativity and an innovative approach to food, resilience to handle challenging situations, and the ability to adapt recipes to meet dietary needs. Organizational Skills: Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently. Business Acumen: An understanding of budgets, costing, and record-keeping.
