Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Officer to join our growing team in Nairobi. The Clinical Officer will play a crucial role in delivering excellent patient care, managing clinical operations, and contributing to the overall success of our clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on maternal health in Kenya.
Responsibilities
The Clinical Officer will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to mothers.
- Diagnosing and managing common illnesses and conditions in women and newborns.
- Performing basic obstetric and gynecological procedures.
- Educating patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and family planning.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborating with nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and clinic management.
- Adhering to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as professional ethical standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and a current practicing license from the Clinical Officers' Council of Kenya.
- At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in obstetrics, gynecology, or pediatrics.
- Proficiency in basic obstetric and gynecological procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Strong commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care.
- Knowledge of the Kenyan healthcare system and relevant policies.
