Job summary

The Clinical Officer lead the day-to-day operations of a Level 2 clinic, providing outpatient care, emergency triage, and basic treatment with appropriate referrals. The role includes supervising staff, managing medicines and supplies, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring quality, safe, and patient-centered care in line with clinical standard

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily clinical and operational management of the Level 2 clinic.
  • Provide outpatient services, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral.
  • Conduct emergency triage and initial stabilization of patients.
  • Manage medicines and medical supplies, ensuring proper use, storage, and documentation.
  • Supervise and coordinate clinical and support staff.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and reports.
  • Promote patient education, preventive care, and health awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, SOPs, and quality standards.
  • Work on shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties as required.

Requirements:

  • kenyan citizenship.
  • Bachelor Degree in Clinical Medicine and Community Health.
  • Registration with the Clinical Officers Council with a valid practicing licence.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in primary care or high-volume settings.
  • Strong skills in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and basic emergency management.
  • Experience in triage, patient stabilization, and referral processes.
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage clinic operations effectively.
  • Knowledge of medicines management, stock control, and clinical documentation.
