Role Objective
A reputable medium size law firm in Nairobi with a strong portfolio in property and commercial transactions is seeking to recruit an Advocate to join its growing legal team. The successful candidate will support conveyancing processes, provide legal guidance on real estate matters, and assist in handling commercial legal transactions for a diverse client base.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and review conveyancing documentation and other legal instruments related to property transactions.
- Provide advisory services on property acquisition, sale, and related real estate matters.
- Handle property transaction processes including preparation of agreements, completion documents, and registration procedures.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities including the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning Kenya, Land Registries, and survey offices to facilitate property registrations and approvals.
- Engage with key stakeholders such as lenders, property agents, valuers, and surveyors to ensure smooth transaction execution.
- Draft and review commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations.
- Conduct legal due diligence on property transactions and prepare supporting documentation.
- Draft and review lease agreements and other property-related contracts.
- Provide legal opinions on commercial transactions and real estate matters.
- Maintain professional client relationships and provide timely legal support to existing clients.
- Assist in the preparation of securities and related legal documentation.
- Support the firm in any other legal assignments as may be required from time to time.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years post-admission experience within a busy legal practice environment.
- Must possess a valid practicing certificate.
- An upper 2nd Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.

- Excellent legal research, drafting, and documentation skills.
