Responsibilities or duties
Responsible for delivering preventive, promotive, and basic curative oral health services, especially in community and rural settings, while observing the acceptable standards of operation.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognized institution.
- Registration with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental hygiene, oral health, and infection prevention and control.
- Proficiency in computer skills (especially Health Management Information Systems).
Experience needed
Minimum of two (2) years’ post-internship experience
Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)
- Experience in community outreach programs, school dental health programs, or mobile dental clinics is an added advantage.
- Ability to perform basic dental procedures (examinations, extractions, prophylaxis, fluoride application).
- Strong knowledge of oral disease prevention, health education, and community mobilization.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry advancements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially with rural or underserved populations.
