Consultant (Policy Survey and Analysis), Institute for Human Development Job at Aga Khan University (AKU)

Job Summary

The successful consultant will conduct policy analysis to ascertain a shared understanding among policy makers and educators of the barriers to utilization of research evidence and gaps in the integration of the WCD approach in education policy, strategy, and curriculum. The activities will largely involve policy analysis work in both Kenya and Uganda.

Responsibilities

  • Identify relevant national/sub-national policy and strategy documents for review and analysis
  • Develop and refine the guiding questions for review and analysis
  • Conduct a review and analysis of relevant documents for each of the study countries
  • Develop a concept paper outlining the methodology for policy analysis
  • Carry out a policy analysis
  • Prepare and present a report based on the policy analysis process and country fact sheets
  • Prepare policy briefs
  • Participate in dissemination forums as needed

Requirements

  • An Educational expert with extensive demonstratable experience in policy analysis
  • Not less than 10 years’ experience related to education/public policy analysis
  • Extensive knowledge of the Kenyan and/ or Ugandan education and legal structures
