Description

We are seeking a recent, passionate culinary graduate for a paid Cook Internship. This is a hands-on role designed to bridge the gap between your education and a professional kitchen. You will be integrated into our culinary brigade to learn and contribute across various sections, upholding the standards of our 4-star hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily food preparation (mise en place) as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Learn and adhere to standard recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
  • Support various kitchen stations (e.g., Garde Manger, Butchery, Pastry) during service.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas, following HACCP guidelines.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of all food items.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate from a recognized culinary arts institution.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety.
  • Eagerness to learn, accept feedback, and develop a professional craft.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced hotel environment.
  • High level of personal hygiene and professional presentation.

We Offer:

  • A monthly stipend of Ksh. 10,000.
